am i really going to a wedding?!!!!
yes...its true i am attending a wedding...even went to the Mendhi. Whats happening to me?!! Think it shall prepare me for my sisters do in 2weeks time...even though that shall be a lot different cos we're Sylheti!!!!and everyone invited is Sylheti...apart from the token 'gore' and non-Sylhetis (and not forgetting the Pakistanis too!).
Wont go on about it too much cos gta still wirte about sisters' wedding!!! But i must say it was a nice event..F u missed out!!!(F...where's the invitation card?i want us to frame it in our new house...our first joint invitation. & as per usual the wife is sent to these things while the hubby relaxes at home!!!)
Was tld to go to the Mendhi a few days before by Rosie so dint bring up any of my one million shuti sarees...think she did it on purpose cos she doesn't like them!!! Ran from work to my house (in 10mins), packed and then ran to hers in 15mins...well impressive!!! She sed b there early so someone could put on the saree for me and then they're leaving at 6!! I mean, Rosie is atleast 2hrs late to everything so i didn't take her seriously but cos her mums in the country i was there by 5.45. Enough time to put on saree, make-up and jewellery!!! But apparantly not...cos we ended up leaving at 6.30 and it was Rosie's fault. Some people just take ages to get ready!!!!! We then went to Mel C's house which took another hour i think (was making mental note of it all for prep for sisters mendhi!!). Got to the hall in one piece alhamdullilah...Mel C looked gorgeous as per usual mashaAllah.
Wedding Day...i did get ready in 10mins...just the make-up bit took a bit long cos one is allergic to it...and excess could just turn me into a monster!!!! green outfit + green eye makeup = too much attention on the eyes. which = NIKAAB. for a gal who doesn't wear make-up i felt nikaab was obligatory...and i did enjoy people not knowing who i was...hehe...although they did just look at my eyes and figure.
Food was delicious, people looked gorgeous (esp the bride and her family!!!)...eat, drank and was merry...didn't see too many Sylhetis...not too many people...never doing it again!!...may Bod's wedding be the same...Ameen
