one more week

Eco’s parents are the cutest. What do old people do when their kids have all moved out, and are faced with a random girl lodging in their home? Her mum cooked ‘tahiri’ (yellow-colured-pilau-with potato-kind of thing) for me cos she knows how I don’t really enjoy roti quite as much. It was the sweetest thing. Plus, she made this chicken tikka fried vegetable thing. Didn’t tell her I’d already eaten and eat what she had made especially for me. Alhamdullilah, I have a big appetite! We then watched Geo (pronounced in an Asian accent gee-yo)…the advert for ‘George ka Pakistan’ is so funny. Think you have to watch it to appreciate it. Then I started talking about random things with them in Urdu. Eco- you should have been there. It was flowing amazing and I wasn’t making any gender mistakes!! Talked about my daily bus journey so it wasn't that hard.

Earlier I met up with Rukaiya and went to eat at Kebabland. It was ok I guess- a bit posh for a kebab joint!! Practiced a bit more BSL…think I’m getting the hang of things…I may have found my skill…inshaAllah. The way you sign isn’t the same as the way you speak - sometimes the words are jubbled up in the sentence, it can be very confusing. Only have one more week of London left so can probably only meet up with Rukaiya one more time…along with the rest of Eco’s friends.

Monday (day off work/ bank holiday)- go see bhabi et family in Hampstead
Tuesday evening- see Reena. She wants to take me out for ice-cream or something *does she not know I don’t like ice-cream!*
Wednesday evening- see Lydie. Feel bad for only having spent one day with her.
Thursday evening- see Eco’s friends
Friday evening- spend the last few hours with Eco’s parents before catching the train home.

phew.
