taraweeh
second day of going to taraweeh yday- this time i walked! 'After doing wudu and then walking to the masjid one good deed is added and one bad sin is taken away'.
*does your fast break when you have ill-feeling towards someone or some group of ppl?*
there was less ppl at taraweeh prayer yday. I think its cos it was a school-night or something. One thing that is annoying me a little but obviously its not a big deal is that the women won't stand shoulder-to-shoulder...maybe im just used to Ambrose during Taraweeh prayer?!! Plus, i guess its cos the aunti-jis need space for when they sit down and do sajuud...they're all mashaAllah very healthy. They all look and dress the same too- maybe they're all inter-bred and from the same family?!! Astaghfirullah, look at me slandering. Anyway, won't be going to the masjid for a while now :( And its not because i had a telling off from Bods- "in Hanafi Fiqh women shouldpray in the corner of their homes"- she forgot to add "...for there is greater reward"!! Yeah, i know this. But i wished to go against it yday for reasons that i thought were better for my imaan. Allah (swt) knows best. Everything is so black and white for her that i leave her to it.
Eco- could you go to Mufti's place and ask him these questions? cos i feel bad ringing him just before iftar and obviously its magrid time after 7pm. Im not sinful am i if i go against this ruling...its not haraam...
Also, ask him is it ok for girls our age to pray sitting down?- i can make 70 excuses for one or two of them but half a dozen can't have back/leg/knee problems?!!
anyway, 'truly in the rememberence of Allah do hearts soften'. This masjid that i go to is mashaAllah beautiful so it makes it nicer to read there. Plus, the mic in the sisters' side sounds echo-y...reminds me on Makkah. This is number two on my wishlist...i yearn to go to Makkah. At times like this i am so up for temp-marriages!! Eco- you have to come do iftar with me one day...it will be full of oily stuff but the taraweeh prayer is worth it. The first reciter is great mashaAllah and he's only 17 or 18 years old. I think he's the best out of the three but i think im biased cos i know who he is. *Is it asking too much to want future hubby to have good qirat?*
gotta go grocery shopping while mum is sleeping- poor her she has to wake up early and drop off kids to school. She's decided not to cook today- instead we're having meat curry from yday that nobody eat cos the alternative was fried food.
Still don't know where im going to uni :S ....will let you know by the end of the week inshaAllah.

Hi.
Am not v.happy with mister mufti cos he does his mini-talks after fajr (which is fine but...) at Jame Mosq (which is the type tht doesnt have a sisters section). Gr. BUt ALHAMDULILLAH Radio Ramadan Lesta is COOl- its mufti from 6pm till iftar (so hes a little busy to answer Qs but u can call in in the 2min breaks) and then sh. riyadh does the tafsir of whatever was recited in the tarawih Straight after (around 10pm). Oh actually K, u can listen to it online alhamdulillah, http://streaming1.le.ac.uk/Lush%20FM?MSWMExt=.asf
I totally understand abt the tarawih @home thing- im unlikely to do it well so iv been to the salafi mosq (u shud come there, its nice, just like ambrose. all these even "healthier" somali women squashing ur toes and elbowing u alhamdulillah). Anyway Y wont go ther anymore because we were listening to a fiqh talk abt ramadan on zaytuna website by tahir abbas or siummin and he was like no way hose shud hanafis b doing 8 rakaat. he is hardcore and i dont like him much but i suspect u mite and its got some interesting stuff, its on the site sumwhere.
sorry i was in a bad mood when u called- lol. just me.
btw i think that nafl can be read sitting down even if u got no medical issues so maybe thats got something to do with it. 70 excuses. not sure tho.
thanks so much for the book ill send u 2.70 cheque inshallah. its so much easier to just use tht for basics rather than getting literally 3 different methods from norway, khallo, and "mum". Today i made tahiri which was fine alhamdulillah just i cant get the salt right. also made these puff pastrys with creamy veg n potatos. they were Ok but not amazing. alhamdulillah. its amazing how long it takes to cook. im a little quicker now. still havent mastered rotis. naan all the way, just dont tell "mum".
the syed qutb book sounds nice- i will get round to it inshaALlah. was reading tafsir which is Ok but not amazing, he didnt like jews much did he. summarise the other chapters too inshallah. im to o busy readin books abt palestine atm ;)
Im going london weds-fri next week fr jobs fair (booked it) and then im going again soon after cos norweigans are back for a week inshallah. i cant therefore go manch next week. i duno if i want to, will it be the same? will i want to leave? wil it waste a ramadan day? what wil it b like without ambrose?
really wanted to go env thing tomoro but i have abt 5 appl deadlines for friday and i do like 1 every week atm so i dunno :(
perhaps i should have just blogged instead.
bye.

pink- are you having a dig at my email strategy?!! ahem...someone hasn't replied :P
*am not jealous of Mufti evrday on the radio*- would love to listen to it but the computer is in Obz room and he sleeps straight after school till Iftar!!
the text i sent you about the 8 Rakahs thing was from the book i was reading jst before Ramadan 'Concernign Taraweeh' by Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Baaz. Anyway, i know Hanafi says 20 rakahs so i prefer to pray at the masjid...
will try to summarise each chapter but have gotten very far into the book...plus, a lot of it is going through the same thing over and over. Its more the type of book as a reminder but will inshaAllah try to blog about it. Btw, i listened to CD1 of 'Abu Bakr' by Sheikh Zahir *swoon*. he is a little Riyadhul Haq- esque so i am totally in love. Still have a soft spot for Uthman bin Affan though...Abu Bakr was amazing, really he was!!!
Currently online trying to look at potential places to apply for jobs...ahem, sorry CAREER. Spoke to Farima two days in a row now. She's helping me a lot- will get her help me out with job stuff i guess cos i got noone else to ask :( Good luck with yours- atleast you seem to be getting interviews to some places.
will ring another day...its ok, was D the other day and didn't wanna speak to anyone but yday my mood brightened a little so i thought id ring you.
Got an iftar dawat next friday so may go Mcr next Saturday inshaAllah.
