food glorious food
oh, not blogged in ages. Wish i could say that i've been busy but i'd be lying...the truth is that nothing interesting has been happening in my life :p This is probably what its going to be like ofr the next few months so may just blog once every fortnight just for the heck of it. Woke up late today but didn't miss any lectures alhamdullilah...missed my 9 o'clock yday but that's cos i slept just befor Fajr. Masters is so hard...who told me to do it?!! I know only a little about Economics and thats the pre-requisite for the MAsters....why the hell did they let me blag my way through?!! Its okay- i can do the mathematical side to Economics which some ppl are struggling with so thats one out of six modules sorted! Would bag another module as its just presentations but the Chinese seem to be good at that too, minus their very bad spoken English! I hate chinese ppl...why the hell can't they speak English in class.
Yesterday was nice cos my two FOB uncles treated us to iftar. Wel, really they wanted to provide my mum (their cousin) with iftar to thank her for everything but instead it was a huge family affair. My cousin came down...so did Rehana bhabi and mum invited Nayera's family (our close Paki fmily friend) and mum's 'wannabe' best-friend and her family. I was getting excited thinking that my uncles would cook something but instead they ring me up to pick them up and take them food shopping! Taxi-service or what?!! We went to Coventry Rd and spent £76 in Ambala!!! Don't ask what they bought but alhamdullilah it was all very nice. Mum made kitchuri at home so it felt like an iftar! Because it was Monday we ended up chilling till late- a regular occurence as that's they only day my uncles have a day off. Every monday my mum will cook twice as many dishes as she knows her two cousind are coming round- aww, how sweet. We have an iftar dawat tmrw at the Paki auntie's house- i really love Paki food and she makes the best kebabs...im so excited!! Speakig of Dawats- we went to the 'Bangladesh Cultural Society' iftar on Sunday. The event clashed with Dad's iftar in the restaurant but alhamdullilah both events went well. Dad's iftar was strictly for men anyway so we had no choice but to go to the other one!! My mum, along with Bhabi, tried to force me to wear shalwar kameez (minus jilbaab) cos apparantly i have loads and i don't wear them!! Well, stop buying them for me then... Anyway, felt bad so wore it. But just before i got into the car to drive i pegged it inside to grab the long black thing- seriously, trying to juggle a dupatta, making sure the kameez isn't fitted, etc, etc, etc is hard....Jilbaab is so the best invention ever!! The food was nice-the usual biryani and obviously my mum grabbed a box full of rice! They also forced onto my mum a huge box of watermelons knowing she has a dozen ppl at the house!
Anything else fairly interesting..... erm, nope can't think of anything!! Oh, took ILo to a sixth form Open Day. My, how kids grow up so fast. She'll be going to Spain on Friday for the weekend- coming back on Eid day (if its on Monday). She's so small...i worry about that one! InshaAllah she'll be ok.
