pass 2nd Year!!!!

Alhamdullilah i passed with flying colours. Needed to do really well this semester to get 2.1 average overall!! And since i got 52% last semester i needed average of 65 to get just a 2.1 and an average of 70+ to get an overall average of 65. And obviously 70-80% to get a first!!!! (I knew my Maths skills would come in hand one day!!!).

Mum was pleased...dad kinda too. But didn't tell him that i only got 62.3%!!! He then went on about me doing a PhD...don't think so matey!!! Told him that i wanted to do a Master in Islamic Banking...he should be grateful that i not just wanting to be a housewife anymore!!!!!(not that he knew that was my life ambition). Anyways, who does PhDs nowadays? Nobody i no...so guess i won't be doing that!!! And in Maths...i think not!!! There was a time i remember when i used to eat, sleep and breathe maths but now ALLOW big time!!!! Why are degrees so hard??

Obs and mum

the bratz going out to hand out wedding invites

While mum and dad go hand out the wedding invites to random relatives we obviously had to give these people as incentive to come to the wedding!!! We cudn't send them a pic of the bride-to-be (and to show them whoes wedding they're coming to) so we sent them the family entertainment!! Wouldn't you come to a wedding if these two were present!?!!

Look at Nabeel's face...ain't he rock-'ard...he'l beat you up if you dont attend(this message goes out to F). And Amani will just get upset if you don't come...and will never smile again!!!

reason number 1 for going to Mcr

knew there was something wrong when dad came to wake me up!!he ignored the unpacked bags all across the floor...more concerned with dragging me to his 'British-Bangladeshi....crap,crap,crap'. I would write down what it was but there's so many that dad's part of that i don't know which one this was. Think BBEC(British Bangladesh Enterprise... Commission...Corporation...) OOPS!!! Thank God dad don't no about this blog!!! Randon ppl there...walked in and obviously full of Bengalis (Sylhetis i think mainly) and got a little confused on whether to speak Bangla or Sylheti. The last 'all Bengali' event i had been to, or events that im used to going to, i usually speak Bangla so i tried that. And yes only a few understood!! Well embarrassing cos now they prob think im a snob for speaking it. anyways, then my dad decides to leave me with and chill with his people. Recognised no-one so left dad to it...then some loser decides to chat me up. Alhamdullilah dad was in close proximity cos i just told the guy that i was there with my dad. Told mum about the nasty Bengali trying to chat me up...and she felt sorry for me and brought me home. (If i had passed my driving test...would have gone home myself!!!!)

The Lord Mayor was there, Cllr. Talib Hussain(he ran against Salma Yaqub in our area...and came third...hehehe) and other random ppl were there. My dad made a speech as per usual...im sure it was about something hes spoken about before...Bangladeshi not being so well educated, blah,blah,blah..... And i put my foot in it...not about hating Bengalis(especially Sylhetis) but about sister's wedding!! Dads fault really was made to sit next to this 'old' woman, she recognised me...or she thought i was my sister. She started talking to me in English...hate it when auntijies do that...can speak Bangla you no!!!(Well, kinda). She asked y i didnt have a job over the summer...told her i too busy with sister's wedding. And me knowing that my dad is inviting the whole world thought that dad was obviously gna invite her!!! She didn't even no that sister was getting married....im sure she thought that my sister so young...but she still did think i should get a job!!! Dad did tell me after that he didn't wanna invite her...but guess it's too late!!!hehehe IT'S GONNA BE CRAP ANYWAY!!!!!!!!! Oh, im babbling on...the reason i left home was to avoid all of my dads political/Bangladeshi/'big people' in 'big places' crap crap crap!!! Must dash...sister showing me how she wants her table to be at her(my dad TAKING OVER) wedding.

day number 2 in London

was allowed to wait up late today cos we didn't have much planned!! was on a mission to finish my book also!! Got ready, went downstairs, had breakfast...then realised we had invited the random cousin, T. She hadn't got ready so we waited for her....i didn'tmind. I spend most my time waiting around for people...seems like no-one else in the world is quite as obsessed in time keeping!! Then came the moment of saying good-bye to my adopted family for the weekend. It wasn't that emotional but it was really sweet cos i did feel like i was the daughter in-law. F's mum wanted to give me some kind of jewellery set. She cudn't find it though!!! Will be expecting it in the post very soon inshaAllah!!(hint hint)

Cant remember where we went in the morning but we then went to Camden Market. Had been before when i was younger and im sure it was alot bigger!!!! Didn't buy anythig cos now that Primark exists nothing seems worth buying! Paid an extortionate amount for one slice of pizza(im sure i cudav bought a whole pizza for the same amount in Manchester!!?!!) then left to go trek it to Central to go to some Muslim Environmental talk. The group was called LINE(London I... N... Environment). There were only about 10 people but did stay for the sake of F. Before we started the meeting( which happens every month) there was the recitationof Surah Fatiha, then one minute silence to focus or some crap! At this point i wish we did leave but cos there was only a few of us...would have been noticed!!

We did end up leaving early though...not as early as F had hoped! We made some excuse about me having to catch my train...which technically wasn't lieing cos did have to catch my train...just not until later on!! F then wanted to go on the London Eye. Which i really dont recommend cos theres not much to see in London...all you can really see is Westminster. Plus it was a miserable day so cudn't get a tan or anything!! Plus it goes so slowly...did sit there and wonder that the rest of the people with us must have thought we were terrorists...and were thinking if only the pod had emergency exits on the side of the River Thames. Cos on the side it does have emergency exits is the side of the entrance and if you jumped you'd just splatter on the floor!!

After that we then ran to get the tube to Kennington, i think. To go meet F's friends., and to eat at Nandos. We made it ON TIME alhamdullilah. Was there for about 1 and a half hours. Her friends were really nice...we didn't talk about make-up, clothes or marriage. Actually, just for one minute...cos they did ask me what i was gonna do after i graduate...that when the topic of marriage came up...and quickly dissappeared!!! Then had to get to Euston...didn't wanna miss my train. Had work the next day at 9am. Got there on time but then the train got delayed...the train also got to Manchester really late. Btw the time i got home it was bout 2am...did tel mum it was 12 though. She was still worried cos i was going to an empty house...lived on my own before , dunno what she worried about?!! That copmpletes my trip to London...did miss out huge bits cos otherwise id go on forever!!!

trip 2 london

Things i do just to be with a loved one...even tho i do hate London im sure Hendon couldn't be that bad!?!! i did have to get there myself tho cos F didn't wanna pick me up from Euston. (btw, F is my other half and not any sort out bad language cos if i wanted to use rude words i would just fucking write it). But im a nice girl so i dont think il be using that sort of language ever again!!!! Anyways, back to London...was made to catch the tube on my own and managed perfectly fine except when i got to Hendon Central and took another mans ticket...how was i suppoe to know that the machine takes your ticket if you get a single!?!! The man smiled and i gave it back. Was greeted by F then she took me to meet the family.

Daunting at the thought but the best way to overcome is just to be quiet(talk only when spoken to) and shy(pretend obviously!) and smile and smile and smile (until they go to bed then you may stop!!...but in my case keep smiling). Apart from her beautiful house there was a Rolls Royce sitting outside. Being a tourist for the weekend i took a pic infront of it. F did seem embarrassed but i didn't care!!! Was going to be taking pics all weekend.

Had dinner once i got there, wit the family ofcourse. She had random relatives staying which is a norm at my house so didn't feel weird!!! The random aunt asked where in Bungoland im from...obviously replied with a glee SYLHET. She said her hubby was from Dhaka and she had been many times. I just continued eating cos hadn't eaten home-cooked food in ages!!! She then said to F's mum " who would have thought that the world's most prettiest girls would be found in Bangladesh...but only in Sylhet?". I did then think that i doubt she's ever been or i've just kept my eyes closed the whole time i've been in Bangladesh!!! But i did take it as a complement and smiled and continued eating.

Anyways, that was last night. This morning we woke up really early, accidently went into her bros room instead of the bathroom, had breakfast, grabbed a book and pegged it outta the house before the random people tagged along!!! Yes...i grabbed a book from F's bookshelf. It was only a thin one but decided to finish it whilst in London. Dunno who it was by but it called 'Veronica decided to die'. And yes, 'accidently' went into her bros room. Thank god i had hijab on and that he were half dead to the world!!!...knew i should have picked the door on the left!!

Have been to London before so have, i think, done most of the sight-seeing!! Went to Trafalgar Square, National Portrait gallery(dunno if looking at portraits is halal if we're not suppose to draw them!?!!), Covent Gardens and Leicester Square. F took me to have ice-cream at Ben & Jerrys...dunno y cos she knows that i dont really eat ice-cream. We been living round the corner from Moonlight for the past year and we'd only been 3 times!!!! Anyway, had my favourite...chocolate ice-cream. And like all vegetarian food in every kind of restaurant that exists it tasted the same as any other chocolate ice-cream!!! That was in the day time...we then had to pray so F took me to Regents Park Mosque. Did take us quite some time to get there cos someone is not very good with directions(even though they study Geography) and evry 10mins decided that we should take a 'short-cut'...which isn't really a short cut but i do obey like an obedient wife. Was there for quite some time then her random aunt, cousin and mum decided to pop up outta the blue!! Prayed that they weren't gna tag along for the rest of the day!!!

In the evening we decided to go to Edgware Road. Never ever go wit me or F to eat cos she seems to only wanna go to PizzaHut, McD or Subway and i only to anywhere that does Indian food!!! On Edgware Road and you'd think after walking up and down we'd eat in an Arab restaurant....NO we ended up eating naan, chicken tikka, etc. Not that im complaining!!

Long day...still tmrw to go where i shall meet F's friends.
P.S. Hope they have a London accent cos F doesn't....think she went to a 'POSH' school.

First blog...and no talk of make-up,clothes or marriage!!!Impressive!!!
