Eid Mubarak

i don't know why im still awake- really should be trying to get some beautysleep before getting ready for Eid tmrw. It so doesn't feel like its Eid tmrw. Firstly, cos there hasn't really been a run up to it and secondly mayb cos half my family aren't even here! Usually what happens the day before is that i'm frantically cleaning leaving the kitchen till the morning of Eid cos my mum is usually slaving away on her 10th dish or something. I just sat on my arse this evening and ate fishfingers!! I didn't even have to clean cos the house has been clean since they left cos there aren't any kids to mess it up!! Really missing Mani and Nabi :( He'd go to the Mosque with the boys and usually just entertain ppl and Mani would be struggling in her heels...

Was contemplating making egg pudding just incase ppl decided to pop round but i don't think anyone is cos they know my mum's not here. A little upset too cos my Bhabi whos house we were supposed to crash forlunch has gone to Mcr!! And now we're going to one of Dad's random friends house for lunch- im not complaining as long as i don't have to cook!! And for dinner an aunty has invited us round...hopefully not just me and ILo cos she only has boys and i don't wanna be chatting to them all night. Definitely making Shemai tmrw for breakfast...minus the Parathas(il b getting out the Shahana ones instead!!). My dad likes to eat that before going to the Mosque. It obviously won't be as nice as mums but im sure it'll taste nice cos im gonna put loadsa effort into it.

This Eid is probably gonna be more boring then usual :S Anyway, Eid Mubarak to everyone.

woke up this morning with a silly text from Vanat wishing me a merry Xmas. Boy!! That girl is so random...i just wished her a happy Xmas back and told her to get her lazy self to come see me at home!! Just waiting to go to the restaurant to have our Xmas dinner- they have a Turkey there :P Usually what happens during this time of the year is that my Mama and cousins come down from Leicester, my mum cooks the most amazing Xmas dinner at home with a huge Chicken and we open leftover crackers from the restaurant. Was contemplating on doing it this year but my Mama's gone to Bdesh and really couldn't be bothered to buy the vegetables the day before!! Seriously, we don't 'celebrate' christmas but its just a time when everyone (except my dad) has a day off work and we all just get together...whats wrong with that?!! I mean, we used to when we were younger. We got money ever year without fail and it always ended up being more fun then Eid!! We used to get so many presents from random relatives which was always nice. Things have changed since we are now grown-up and slightly practicing :( but i guess a little turkey never hurt nobody!

Had my sister down for the weekend- she cooked as i refuse to be all domesticated in the kitchen unless i am forced to be!! It was nice though cos as she cooked i cleaned the fridge, the store room and tidied my parents bomb-shell of a bedroom!! It seriously took me the whole day! I really couldn't believe how much clothes both my parents have!! I guess this is where i get it from!?!! My dad has approx 20 white shirts...then 8blue ones and then another 20 or so of other colours. How many shirts can one person have?!! Then my mother on the other hand had over 140 sarees... i seriously need to chuck half of them away!! Hopefully she won't notice ;P I guess i won't need to buy Eid clothes this year...or the year after o...r the year after that for the next 20 years!!

I really should start revising for my exams in January but as per usual i'm procrastinating. Anyway, have more job applications to get on with and interviews to prepare for!! Have an online test to do too today for RBS- really have not practiced but here it goes anyway...

2nd interviews...yippee

Alhamdullilah...managed to get through to the next round of interviews with Citigroup. They said my numerical test was above average and more then what they expect from candidates, and that the interviewer thought i had great examples for each of the competencies. Im well impressed cos i really didn't do any preperation until the night before...and i was seriously crap at interviews!! Actually, i still am but have a month to now prepare. The next round is in January- Eco, will you be there in London? Anyway, make dua that it goes ok and i don't make a prat of myself infront of everyone.

Cooked yday...and managed to kinda burn the chicken :s Thank god it was just me and Haifa eating- would have been well embarassed in front of my dad!! Poor him- he's missing home cooked-decent food...he's having to resort to eating at the restaurant cos our cooking isn't up to scratch! Had chips yday cos i was busy chilling with my mate that i didn't have time to cook :s

Citigroup interview

OMG- the Citigroup offices are so amazing in London. Its all glass on the inside...and they have Costa and a shopping on the downfloor!! Anyway, managed to get there on time-fairly early actually. Anyway got chatting to another girl who was there for an interview- she didn't know what department she was applying for..its actually not her fault cos the online application is so confusing. The website just takes you round and round in circles...and then you end up applying to whatever you manage to find. I THINK i applied for the Finance department for Global Consumer UK on their Professional Development Programme or something.

I looked well posh! My feet are killing now- why the hell am i short?!! Had to wear heels so the trousers didn't drag on the floor. Anyway, the actual interview went well...i managed to answer the competency questions. Plus, the guy who interviewed me wasn't very intimidating so i wasn't nervous or anything. The numeracy psychometric test was standard so it was fine alhamdullilah.
Find out on Monday whether i get into the next round- Assessment Day :S

Gotta go tidy the storeroom now...then dad's taking us out to lunch even though i offered to cook (that's prob why he did suggest going out!!)...it'll prob be to our restaurant i bet you?!!

The house is so quiet without the kids...and mum shouting at the kids. Nabeel seems to be having fun but Amani just wants to come home! And mum wants to stay there forever i guess...she doesn't seem to wanna come home :( My nana passed away last Friday morning. Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun. Mum was his favourite so atleast she got to see and speak to him before he passed away. There were thousands of ppl at his janaza cos it was straight after Jum'ah. Was so upset when i heard at 3 in the morning and couldn't go back to sleep. Had to stupid go into uni that day to hand in an assessment...actually, glad i did cos dad and Bods went to see Nana's brother. Don't think i could have coped seeing him upset!! It was hard enough having to speak to my mum who was extremely upset. I guess Obz is there with her...plus, her two brothers from America. They'll be back after Eid :D wonder what we'll do for Eid- should really find a house to go to!!

man! i always think of stuff to write but when i get round to it i forget!! Anyway, all i can remeber is that i so many deadline this week plus my first ever JOb interview!! Wish me luck ;p

so happy today..got my first marked 'something' back today- had a test last week on a module i seriously don't understand. The test counts for 25% of that module so was obviously crapping my pants beforehand. Anyway, thanks to German-Exchange-student-guy who explained the concept of the whole module i managed to get 62% alhamdullilah!! There's no point in being happy cos got a deadline on Friday but wanna do it by Thursday so i don't have to go in just to hand in the stupid thing... a Presentation next Tuesday (where i have to choose a topic, find 6 journals, read them, summarise them, do a spider diagram to sonnect them together and do a research proposal!!!) and an essay for next Friday (on Economic theories???). Not forgetting the group work on Data Analysis that my group wanna hand in by christmas....sheeshus!!

Anyway, seems like im not going to heading up to Mcr after all of this. Figured that noones there really...plus, id be wasting time when i could be studying...plus, dunno if dad will let me go for a weekend to chill when i have revision to be getting on with!! Even now i should be doing some of that darn essay!!! Fear not my friends- am having a (Xmas) party. Its not really a party...just an axcuse for everyone to come see me rather than me having to trek it to see everyone... whatever- anyone reading is invited!! Plus, the house is free cos family are off to Bdesh! They're going Wednesday morning...hope they manage to get to Sylhet!! Bdesh is in a state at the moment- so glad im not going.

Anyway, back to work i go.
Eco- im gonna be in London next Friday :P
